AIESEC Lagos WORK PLAN for Y4GG

The Y4GG campaign is an awareness campaign created by AIESEC to basically make the youth aware of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations in 2015 to be achieved in 2030. The campaign is set to be achieved in AIESEC Lagos through three means:
  1. Visits to two schools: This will involve visits to two schools; two days each. The aim of this is to increase the reach to even the younger populace in the secondary schools and make the impact even wider. The SDGs are targeted to be achieved by 2030 and the currently young population are the tomorrow’s leaders responsible for making this happen.
  2. Global Goals Model Challenge. This is a competition open to the students of UNILAG to show how they envision the achievement of any of the global goals they are passionate about in their immediate environment. Participants can represent their imagination or vision either through a creative writing about or a physical model of the goal they are most passionate about. This means that there will be two categories of submission to this challenge. More details about this below.
  3. YouthSpeak Forum: This is a premiere event to bring together young leaders and experts in industries to discuss the goals in need of dire achievement or progress at least in Nigeria. This event will also double as the grand finale of the competition.

Global Goals Model Challenge (GGMC)

There are seventeen global goas for sustainable development. In our immediate environment Lagos, Nigeria, we can envision how achievement of any of the goals can visually change the look of our cities and environment. This challenge is aimed at making youth understand what the SDGs are about and also to get them brainstorming about how an SDG can be achieved in their immediate surroundings. The results of this brainstorming can be put down either in a physical form (for example a model or landscape painting) or a writeup.
