DAY 1 AIESEC Lagos Local Committee Conference.

  • Hey AIESEC!!!
So, today,  31st of July 2015, the much awaited Local Committee Conference kicked off.  Much team bonding, leadership quality reevaluation, Expa training among all, and of course Roll calls!!! We had speakers form the MC and members of the EB. I personally learnt and I will also share the experiences of other AIESEC members here tonight.

I arrived at the Master's studio in the department of Architecture at the University of Lagos a little late. Nevertheless I hadn't missed much. The members of the EB team were set for the event. Ugo was looking filled with energy as usual. Yomi looked very busy with his laptop, (preparing for his speech I guess).

We had series of speeches and team events, a lot to learn, even till the last session. I'll just give my little highlights in bullets with pictures.

Highlights of the day.

  • So, firstly I want to comment on the teamwork game we had, it was quite educative. As it showed how hard it could be for people to listen to each other's opinion. Ugo handled the situation well though (*finger rolls*).  Also, it demonstrated how the whole team would be totally lost and would need someone to call it back to order and create a new and clear line of thinking. I also learned that some people will just want to be on the team without contributing. πŸ˜’πŸ˜’(I dint mention anyone sha.
  • Also, the MC VPTM James Akume had a very heart-touching session. He spoke on a lot of topics that generally involve self reevaluation. From talks about leadership and how to handle different team members to the core values of AIESEC and how to live by them. I'd have loved to talk a lot about all I learned, but then all of you that didn't come will want to be gaining undeserved knowledge (πŸ˜’πŸ˜’)
  • Also, YomiVP Mac was quite helpful with the EXPA training. Apart from those that were dosing off from the quite heavy lunch, we were able to learn how to use the new GIS. From everybody's point of view,  we were able to experience the customer flow.
      • Also lastly, we had an awesome roll call Session. The new Bobo roll call was featured twice. And we seem to have some old AIESEC beasts who danced non-stop and we also seem to have some eager new AIESECers. Saffiya was especially ready to hit the dace floor (should it be roll call floor?) anyways she seemed very pumped to dance but not too pumped or "awesome" or "great" or "enthusiastic" or "any of our AIESEC words" according to her about anything else in the conference, just okay, just fine! (hmmnn!).
I think that's all I have to say for now. Pictures of highlights are below. Feast your eyes.
