LC MEETING FOR AUGUST 19TH

Hey AIESEC!!!!           Hey AIESEC!!!!!         How are we feeling?!!!!!       How are we F***ing feeling?.

Today’s meeting was an INFO SESSION which was a blast, from the crowd that came, to the meeting itself, till the end. We all know the drill; introductions were made, visions in 10 years were said by everyone (quite inspiring). Had an ice-breaker called Speed Dating, where we had to meet different people and interact with them, getting to know them within a few minutes.

Down to business. As today was an Info session, we got to know what AIESEC is all about, and got to clear our minds on stuffs that were confusing or not clear about AIESEC. Watched a few videos that enlightened us on how we are related all over the world, how we are global citizens, how the world is or how different people see the world, and most importantly, how we can change the world.

What is AIESEC: AIESEC is an international non-governmental, non-for-profit organization that provides young people with leadership and cross-cultural global internship and volunteer exchange experiences around the globe, with a focus to empower young people so they can make a positive impact on the society. The AIESEC network includes over 100,000 members in 133 countries. AIESEC helps youth with its vision in mind, which is: PEACE AND FULFILLMENT OF HUMAN-KIND POTENTIAL. This can be achieved by leadership through exchange

EXCHANGE: Exchange is a platform which allows youth to empower themselves through leadership experience by volunteering to work in any country of their choice, on different issues affecting the world today. So many benefits, you wouldn’t want to miss out on. AIESEC doesn’t pay for your trip, AIESEC only helps subsidize the cost for us (a lot of newbies were asking about this)

Now how does AIESEC help us portray global civilization: AIESEC is in over 333 countries. Though we may be different, have our cultural and ethnic differences, AIESEC is like a global world umbrella. It houses us all, and makes us overcome our differences, unites us and helps us to make the world a better place by training us, thereby making us global citizens.

Yay!!! Before this is over, one of our new interns hadn’t been introduced here. (finger snaps for her), she’s a Jamaican, and her name is Sarah (drum roles). We are happy to have her and our other interns around.

Stay awesome guys.
Below are pictures of our prospective newbies along with some oldies.
