LC meeting, 11th march, 2016.
Heeey AIESEC!!!
How are we all doing? How did our week go??
Mine was extremely stressful, (like what’s an engineering week without stress?
They are synonymous). Maybe one day I’ll dedicate a whole post to telling you
guys about the stress of being an engineering student. Alright enough of me,
but before I talk about the meeting, Big birthday shout outs (in arrears) to
Emmanuel (the future is max) and the lovely idonno!!! Wishing you both more
successful years on earth, AIESEC Lagos loves you and God bless you!
Okay so meeting was unusually short this
week (still wondering what happened). But trust me it wasn’t lacking in the
usual fun and vibe that is characteristic of our LC meetings.
Meeting started at about 3:20pm, anchored by
LCPe Ugo, we all took turns painting pictures of how our week went and what we
all did for AIESEC in the course of the week. And then from nowhere appeared
guess who???...... Daniel Elema our Mcp!! Oh yes! (lol calm down…. He wasn’t here to finish up
his talk of last week, don’t shout) rather he was here for something else,
something more serious (details of that I’ll put up towards the end of this
post).
We
did the ‘father Abraham had many sons’ game (where Olu made us do some awkward
things) and then Ugo brought up some sort of song-game about marrying someone
when we grow up and doing something sha (I’m sorry Ugo I just can’t remember it
right now).
All the same it was fun and it achieved its
purpose- which was to break the tension up and make the whole atmosphere
lively. And then we moved on to the main agenda of the meeting, FA meetings. We
all were to divide into our respective FA’s, get to know each other and our
LCVPe, talk about things relating to our FA as well as draw out plans and goals
for our FA for the next 3 months.
(listen to your lcvp was what they said o, not pose for the camera) … (what was Amara doing???) |
This lasted for about 20 minutes and we all
came back together, each fa had a representative come out to tell us about what
they discussed and their plans for the next 3 months.
After that we had a few AOB’s and it was
time to cut Idono’s cake. Up came the birthday girl and we were told to sing a
‘birthday song’ for her (If you weren’t at the meeting trust me you don’t want
to hear the song but for the record Idono doesn’t look like a monkey!!! Haba
what was that Ugo? -__- ) Later sha, we ate the cake and that was basically the
end of the meeting.
Happy birthday Idono! |

Now, I said I was going to come back to
this, the reason our MCP showed up unannounced, so heey guys, apparently AIESEC
Nigeria needs our help. It’s all about the youth speak survey. Now in case you’re
wondering what this is, youth speak survey is a short global survey to
understand the perspective of young people today. Its aimed at finding out what
the youths of today see as the main driver of their motivation, things they want
to see put in place in their local/immediate environment, and also their ideas
and thoughts of how they think the world should shape out by 2030. Okay so how
do they need our help?? At the beginning of this survey AIESEC Nigeria was
leading worldwide when it came to number of responses but right now we are
about 60th in the world. So the MC wants to partner with us (AIESEC
in UNILAG) to promote this campaign. We have a target of about 6000 responses
by Friday and to achieve this we would be using questionnaires. So please
people if your faculty is up school (engineering, science, law, etc.) please
contact Ugo and if you’re down school (FSS, environmental, education, etc.)
please contact Yomi. We need all hands on deck to make this happen so please
guys lets enjoy participation and make this happen!!!
Have a great week guys and don’t forget to
turn up for the youth speak. The MC is counting on you!
Yours truly,
Dami.
