AIESECer OF THE WEEK.
This week, we decided on an awesome AIESECer who handles his MLM position at OGV smoothly and trys not to brag about it. The interview was carried on by the equally awesowe Zully!!!! Enjoy.
Interviewer- Introduce yourself
Hamid- I am Abudlhameed Oladipupo Obileye. Way too many people mess with my name so I just go with Hamid, like a Robert that people call Bob.
Interviewer-What keeps you active at AIESEC?
Hamid-My mama VP, everly giving me work. Hanty Heni, I salute.
Interviewer- What makes you so awesome?
Hamid- the fact that my name is Hamid and the awesome friends I have.
Interviewer- are you single or in a relationship?
Hamid- In a relationship. With engineering.
Interviewer- Gay or straight?...Views on homophobia
Hamid- It’s me you people want to cast abi! Straighter than a ruler. I don’t support gay people, but I wish them well.
Interviewer- how many countries have you been to?
Hamid- 7, if stopover at the airport counts.
Interviewer- what do you do for fun?
Hamid- I’m a movie/TV series person. I occasionally read novels/autobiographies. I also love to play football and table tennis as well.
Interviewer-what is the one thing you feel is a silent menace in our society?
Hamid- Our lowkey tribalism/relative intolerance of one another in this country. We can only ignore it for so long.
Interviewer- What is your lagos of the future?
Hamid- No traffic, no poverty, good roads, good power supply, even distribution of wealth. Hamid4Gov2031.
Interviewer- What tiny animal scares you the most?
Hamid- It has to be rats. Filthy, disgusting creatures. Ratatouille did nothing for me.
Interviewer- what scares you the most and why?
Hamid- that I would not achieve the level of success I want to attain in future. Because over the years I’ve put in a lot of work academically and otherwise, to give myself a good a profile as possible. I fear I would disappoint a few select people, but most importantly, myself..
Interviewer-what is the one thing you can’t live without asides air, food and water?
Hamid- nahhh!!! Y’all be looking for how to kill me before my time. The devil is a liar...
Interviewer-You have to answer na
Hamid-The answer is bread and beans. IfYouKnowYouKnow.
Interviewer- what do you think about black Friday in Nigeria?
Hamid- 2014 black Friday was pretty cool. The rest have been crap.
Interviewer- favourite super villain. What would you do if you were he?
Hamid- Harley Quinn. To hell with Joker, I’d do my own thing.
Interviewer- Which AIESECER is just full of bants to you?
Hamid- Damires He knows himself.
Interviewer- Which AIESECER do you look up to?
Hamid- Mojo sir! I am loyal forever.
Interviewer- if you were lost on an island with three AIESECERs for four years, who would they be and why?
Hamid- Mojola, because he is a pretty fun guy. Hunger already wants to kill me, I’d need a couple good laughs. And he is resourceful too. Anthony Abah, because he is super smart and probably the only one that can figure a way to get us off the island. Jalalah, because she is cool. I’m not close to her, but she seems like good companionship.
Interviewer- Which AIESECER did you feel a bit of admiration for within the first few minutes of meeting, and what did you like about him/her?
Hamid- Olumide Abejide. I thought he was pretty cool because he was juggling a couple of posts in different organizations when I met him including AIESEC VP Finance. But now, erm...well...
Interviewer- which AIESECER do you desperately want to play a prank on, and what prank?
Hamid- Lowkey I’ll prank eniola. Work with the rest of the EB to kick her out of her VP role by unanimous voting or something. Say she has been lax, inefficient, unable to handle a team, and not meeting her targets. She’ll kill everyone in OGV.
Interviewer-if you had to leave AIESEC today, why would that be?
Hamid- to experience something different. AIESEC is great, but at the end of the day, it’s just an experience. The plan is to spend some more time with AIESEC, make decent memories, even better friends, work on some kick ass projects, and then move on when the time is right.
Interviewer-word of advice to the newees?
Hamid- Dive right in, AIESEC would be different from whatever you expected. But get in there and prepare to work. Most importantly, enjoy participation. You’ll thank me later.
Interviewer- shout out to your AIESEC crush
Hamid- Oyin Oyin!!! You know how it is.
